After SSU took the 2013 MEAC championship from the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman last season, they met once again over this past weekend seeking revenge against the Tigers of SSU. The game on Saturday and the double header on Sunday was a weekend series ending with the Wildcats taking the series, 2-1.
Saturday, the SSU Tigers managed to defeat the Wildcats in a tough game but came out on top 5-0. Sunday, the Wildcats got the sweet revenge they’ve wanted since the last championship match in picking up 2 wins against the Tigers 4-3 in the first game and 5-1 in the closing game of the series.
SSU’s baseball team travels to Charleston Southern University in South Carolina to take on the Buccaneers on April 1 at 6 p.m. Both teams will travel back to Savannah to battle once again the next day April 2 at 3 p.m. The Bucs defeated the Tigers 10-5 earlier this season.
