“HOW BIG IS YOUR DREAM?! FOUNDATION”

PRESENTS THE 5thANNUAL “JFLY MUSIC FESTIVAL”

Waycross, GA (August 21, 2013) On Saturday, September 28, 2013 the City of Waycross and the “How Big Is Your Dream?!” Foundation presents the 5th annual JFly Music Festival with special guests Tony Terry, Jeff Bradshaw and Howard Hewett, held at the downtown Phoenix Park, in Waycross, GA, from 4pm – 11pm.  This free festival will provide the Waycross community and the surrounding metro areas in southeast Georgia, with a diverse showcase of international artists that have graced the stage alongside celebrity drummer, Jorel “JFly” Flynn.

For the past five years, JFly has assembled a family fun-filled environment for his hometown and community of Waycross, to bring forth the vision of his nonprofit organization “How Big Is Your Dream?!” (HBIYD) – To introduce cultural music diversity to the youth and the community. JFly has worked extensively to help fulfill a void that is apparent in many communities throughout the state of Georgia that have limited resources in offering music programs to children. With the effort of JFly’s foundation, many schools in Atlanta, Decatur and Waycross, have received musical instruments, scholarships and mentorships for deserving students in those areas. This effort has also formed the connection with exposing Waycross with JFly’s annual festival, which is his way of giving back to his beloved community.

At this year’s festival, JFly has partnered with Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) to unveil “Georgia Sings” a pilot presentation by Georgia Tech, which will integrate science with the arts. The digital presentation will feature choirs at different locations in Georgia (Atlanta and Ellijay) performing live by video teleconference with Waycross High School Choir, the Gilmer High School Choir, Ellijay High School Choir and the Atlanta Girls Choir, accompanied by musicians at the JFly Music Festival. This special 10 minute video performance will be viewed by festival attendees, along with educators and community leaders.

Attendees at this year’s festival will experience a stellar concert with live performances from JFly and The Fly Trap, Tony Terry, Howard Hewett formerly of  Shalamar, Jeff Bradshaw, Cherrelle, Chandra Currelley from Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Family, Antonio Allen, Good Times Brass Band, Melvin Miller, Emdee Brown, Latrese Bush and surprise special guests. Sponsors for the festival include the City Of Waycross, Coca-Cola, Mediastream, YMCA, McDonalds of Feys II Management, Flash Foods, Mayo Clinic, B92.7FM, SmoothJazz.com and Georgia Power. The festival will take place rain or shine at Phoenix Park. For more information visit: www.howbigisyourdream.org
